There will be cream teas, a plant sale, plus cake, produce, second-hand books and bric-a-brac stalls.

All proceeds from the day will go to Morecare. The garden is beautiful and this makes a lovely afternoon out as well as being a great help to Morecare, so do please come and support us!

There will be free transport from the town centre out to Mardon, running regularly throughout the afternoon. There will also be clear signposting to the garden where there is some parking.

Community spirit!

Morecare has benefitted to the tune of £250 thanks to the success of the town's own Festival of Food, Drink and the Arts.

Morecare has benefitted to the tune of £250

Now in its third year, the Festival has developed into a major event on the food and arts calendar and this year attracted over 5,000 people. Part of the profit generated by the Festival has been donated to Morecare.

Moretonhampstead GP, Dr Immy Llewellyn, said: "Morecare provides a vital service, all through volunteer help. The patient transport they provide is essential and much appreciated. It's great that a local event, so important to the town's economy, has decided to put this money back into the community in this way."

Peter Middleton, one of the main organisers of the Festival said: "Right from the start we decided that any profit would be used to benefit the local community Morecare is a great example of the town pulling together to help those who need it most. We are delighted to be able to support them with this donation, given on behalf of everyone who took part in a very successful day"

Julia Wherrell, Morecare Co-ordinator added: "This is a great example of Moreton's true community spirit. All patient journeys are subsidised and any funds added to our coffers is extremely welcome."

Your Help

We continue to be very busy driving local people to hospital and doctors appointments - but we need your help. We are very short of volunteer drivers and we are barely able to cover the number of driving jobs we have. If you could help - it may only be just one journey a month - please contact us on 0800 622 6245. You will need to be CRB checked, which we will organise and fund, and your mileage is paid for. Please help if you can.
